General terms for Mobile Mech services and bookings.
1. Services offered
Mobile Mech provides a range of services, including:
- Mobile mechanic services for cars, light trucks, campervans and motorcycles
- Diesel engine diagnostics and repairs
- Fleet maintenance and servicing
- Emergency roadside breakdown assistance, excluding towing
- Preventative maintenance for machinery and vehicles
- General automotive repairs and servicing
Services are carried out by qualified mechanics. Mobile Mech provides service throughout Auckland.
2. Bookings and appointments
- Bookings can be made online, by phone or by email.
- Same-day service may be available, subject to technician availability.
- Emergency service is prioritised for urgent breakdowns.
- Service times are estimates and may vary based on location, traffic or complexity.
- Booked jobs may change due to delays or unforeseen circumstances.
3. Pricing and payments
- Prices are in New Zealand dollars and include GST unless otherwise stated.
- Diagnostic and call-out fees apply to mobile services.
- A quote will be provided before major work begins.
- Payment is due upon completion unless otherwise agreed.
- Accepted payment methods include PayWave, credit cards and bank transfers.
Quotes are estimates and may include parts, labour, miscellaneous costs and applicable taxes.
4. Cancellations and no-shows
- Cancellations must be made at least six hours in advance.
- Late cancellations or missed appointments may incur a call-out fee.
- Higher rates may apply for after-hours or remote-area emergency services.
5. Warranty and workmanship
- Completed work is backed by a six-month workmanship warranty unless otherwise noted.
- Some components, particularly plastic components, can break due to fatigue. Mobile Mech does not accept responsibility for pre-existing fatigue-related damage that occurs during operation.
- Manufacturer warranties apply to parts where applicable.
- Mobile Mech is not liable for issues caused by pre-existing conditions or misuse.
If a warranted new or second-hand part fails, it will be replaced by the manufacturer or supplier where applicable. Labour charges may still apply for removal and reinstallation.
6. Liability
- Mobile Mech takes reasonable care in delivering services but is not liable for delays or damage due to factors beyond its control, including traffic, weather or supplier issues.
- Mobile Mech is not responsible for loss of or damage to personal items left inside the vehicle.
- Service and pricing information may change and is subject to availability and correction.
7. Customer responsibilities
Customers must:
- Ensure the vehicle or equipment is in a safe and accessible location.
- Provide accurate service history and vehicle information.
- Authorise work before it begins.
- Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat, solid surface rather than grass or loose gravel.
- Be present, or arrange for someone to be present, at the agreed time and location to hand over keys.
8. Website content
- Website content, including descriptions, images and branding, is the property of Mobile Mech unless stated otherwise.
- Reproduction, copying or reuse without permission is prohibited.
- Users must not engage in unauthorised or malicious activity on the website.
9. Privacy
Personal or contact information collected through bookings or communication will be handled in accordance with the Mobile Mech privacy policy.
10. Amendments
These terms may be updated. Changes will be posted on this page and take effect immediately.
11. Booking policy and remote technician requirements
When booking a service, customers must provide:
- Vehicle make, model and year
- Vehicle registration number
- Vehicle location
- Requested service type
- Preferred date and time
- Accurate payment details or an intention to pay the technician directly
Remote technician requirements:
- The vehicle must be within 200 metres of the address provided at the time of booking.
- The vehicle must be on a flat, safe surface.
- The customer must be available to hand over keys and provide access for the duration of the service.
12. Payment options
- Pay the technician directly upon service completion.
- Pay securely online via credit or debit card.
13. Pricing information
- Services are displayed in New Zealand dollars and include GST unless otherwise noted.
- Mobile Mech aims to ensure pricing is current and accurate, but errors may occur.
- If a pricing discrepancy is identified, the customer will be contacted for confirmation before the booking proceeds.
- If payment has been made and the price is incorrect, a refund will be processed.
Quotes are indicative only and not binding. Final costs may vary where the actual work differs from the initial estimate due to unforeseen circumstances.
14. Consumer Guarantees Act
Customers have the right to receive services that are provided with reasonable care and skill, match their description, are fit for their intended purpose, and include parts of acceptable quality. For service concerns or complaints, contact Mobile Mech promptly with relevant details and a description of the issue.
15. Legal jurisdiction
These terms are governed by New Zealand law. Disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
16. Suitability
Mobile Mech will take reasonable steps to ensure services meet booking requirements. However, not every service or part will suit every specific need. Independently verify any website content, features or advice before relying on it.
17. Vehicle photographs
Mobile Mech may photograph a vehicle before work begins to record pre-existing damage. Images will be held for six months before deletion. Personal or sensitive information will not be included in collected photographs.
